Arrow VPN gives Error 734

I'm using poptop as a vpn server on a redhat9 box and get this error when trying to connect to the vpn from a win2k box :

Error 734 : The PPP link control protocol was terminated

This happens right after the "Registering your computer on the network" prompt.

Does anyone know why this happens???

I'm getting that sinking feeling that I need to upgrade the kernel. Could I be right ???
