VPN and Fedora Core 3

I have a Dell Inspiron 9100 and I installed the driverloader program to get my wireless card to work. My card connects to my schools network but i can't connect to the VPN and w/o the VPN i can't surf the web or do anything else.
When i try to connect to the VPN i get this message

Could not attach to driver. Is kernel module loaded?
VPN could not connect to the VPN sub systems

I use the cisco vpn software, and if you dont start the vpn kernel module, you get that warning

anyway, if you are using the cisco vpn, then
/etc/init.d/vpnclient_init start
is what you would do, however if you arent using the cisco vpn client, i dunno
