vnc with ssh

how could i make vnc with ssh to make the connection more safe

i went on google and search for it i have found out the command but not clearly understand it
here is the command ssh -v -L 5905:hostname:5905 paxmaster

the above command tell ssh to foward the port 5905 to the hostname but the last end of it i don't understand

i have a laptop and i want to make a connection to my remote desktop, because i want to use webmin

how would i do that.

You don't need to use vnc in order to initiate a remote webmin session. If you have your webmin configured to use ssl (secure socket layer) just type this in a web browser:


This should present you with the frontend to webmin for you to enter username & password. (It may also tell you that the certificate is not certified just accept for that session only or accept forever).
