Exclamation VNC & ProxyPass

Need some advice here! Trying to get VNC accessible from port 80 via ProxyPass and have successfully done this with Webmin.

When I load the VNC page, I don’t get the “VNC Authentication” page. Instead I end up with an empty page with a grey block and a little red cross in it. At the bottom of the browser window I get a message saying: either "Loading Java Applet Failed" or "Applet VncViewer notinited".

I’m on Suse10 with Apache2. VNC works correctly when I connect to http://192.168.1.1:5801

Here is a snippet of the httpd.con file:

SSLProxyEngine on
ProxyPass /webmin/ https://192.168.1.1:10000/
ProxyPassReverse /webmin/ https://192.168.1.1:10000/
ProxyPass /remote/ http://192.168.1.1:5801/
ProxyPassReverse /remote/ http://192.168.1.1:5801/

Any help appreciated. Thanks.

PS: I've also tried all the combinations of leading and trailing slashes(/) on

ProxyPass /remote/ https://192.168.1.1:5801/
ProxyPassReverse /remote/ https://192.168.1.1:5801/

after banging my head against a brick wall with this one...i took the java files...(from the clases folder) and put them in the same folder as the index file...at which time the authentication screen appears...i dont know if that is right or not...still havnt been able to get it to log in but its a start...and a step in the right direction...
oh and setting the port number to 80
