VMWare for WINNT, RH7.1 guest OS

Hey all,
If you see this message twice, I posted it in Linux General also.

Anyway, I got hold of a copy of VMWARE for WinNT and 2K, running on 2K Advanced Server. I am loading RH 7.1 as my guest OS, from an existing installation on it's own partition. From what *I* can tell, I have things configured properly, telling VMW to load Linux, and enabling the 2 NICs I have, as well as Sound... however, when I power on the virtual Linux machine, it comes up with errors during startup about USB and NICs, as well as sound - [FAILED]. It seems that the NICS, USB, and sound are not being detected through the VM - however, when I boot linux as normal (as an OS should be booted), it boots fine, and I have NICs and sound and USB, etc.
Anyone seen this before, and able to give me information on proper VMWARE configuration?
