VMWare and multiple network cards

I have a PC acting as an internet gateway running SuSE 7.1, kernel 2.2.18. This PC has an ethernet card contected to the Internet via ADSL, and a token ring card connected to the internal network.

IP MASQ/packet filter firewall has been setup and is operational.

VMware has been installed running Win98.

The problem I have is as follows:
Although VMware has access to the internet via eth0, it cannot see the token ring network via tr0.

I have tried various configurations of ipchains with no success. Does anybody have any idea how to solve this problem. Your help would be greatly appreciated.
