Virtual Server Question

Hello all, I am sort of a linux noob so forgive me if I dont ask this right. I have an Ubuntu server (12.10) on one of my boxes. It is setup with a static ip address. I installed KVM and I want to create a virtual Ubuntu server in that same machine. I am following a guide and I am at the KVM setup part at http://www.havetheknowhow.com/Config...rk-Bridge.html

It was going fine until I got to the part about configuring my /etc/network/interfaces file. I have a static ip setup on my physical ethernet (p10p1) and this guide told me to do that. Now at this point his physical nic (eth0) is now set to "manual" and the new br0 adapter is set to static with all the address info. My question is should I just add the br0 part below my static p10p1? or should I delete the lines for it and create the br0 like he has?

Again Im sorry if I am not making sense.

here is my file...

# The loopback network interface
auto lo
iface lo inet loopback

# The primary network interface
auto p10p1
iface p10p1 inet static
address 10.0.0.5
netmask 255.255.255.0
network 10.0.0.0
gateway 10.0.0.1
dns-nameservers 10.0.0.1

Leave your p10p1 section, but put a '#' at the start of each line to disable it. Then leave a blank line and add the br0 section. That way you can restore your old configuration if you ever want to go back.

Note that all of the p10p1 part should be disabled because the bridge gets the static IP. The primary interface (his eth0, your p10p1) is added to bridge_ports.
