Smile Virtual network interfaces that use dhcp


Is it possible that a machine with one network interface can create virtual interfaces that gets an ipadr from dhcp running on the real interface? And, off course, i want to be able to send traffic trough these virtual interfaces.
I am running redhat 9 and i am a newbie to linux so please help me
