virtual host and LAN

Hi guys,

need some guide on how to enable the ip aliasing for my office network... i've installed fedora core2... the current office LAN setup is dhcp(ip range from 172.16.x.x) using windows... I've created virtual hosts using eth0:1 (192.168.1.100) and even add the route -host x.x.x.x dev eth0:1, managed to ping the ip from the linux box... im not sure how to forward the ip so that other network can access it... there is no problem accessing the assign host given by the dhcp server for the linux box, only the virtual hosts.

Thanks

This depends on the topography of your network. If the other machines are routing their packets to a default gateway, it might be trying to go "out" which would fail with this subnet block.

What exactly are you trying to achieve by placing the two subnets on top of each other?
