Hi All,

I have recently installed suse linux 9.1 personal on my (now) dual boot system.

In Suse, my network card is detected as a syscom VT86C100A adapter but I cannot get it to work at all.

I have tried all the usual connection settings, dhcp static ip addy etc but to no avail, it says the card is not configured.

Bearing in mind I am a complete newbie to linux, does anyone have any ideas on how I can get this card to work?

I am accessing the net via my lan - ip range 192.168.0.xx via DHCP.

If its any help, on my router, NETGEAR MR314, the 100TX light occasionally flashes. If I boot to WinXP, the light stays on continuously denoting a 100tx connection to my router. I am just wondering if its a duplex problem?

You could try the following

add the line
alias eth0 via-rhine
in the files
/etc/modules.conf

test it with depmod

and start net with ifup eth0
