VIA Rhino II not taking IP address
 

I have installed Manrake 9.0 on my new system and everything seems to work fine except for the fact that I can not access the network. During boot the script says "Unable to determine IP information" or something. During installation the system detected the integrated LAN port automatically and installed the appropriate drivers, except during boot it will not take a valid IP address. What are my options? In Windows XP Pro it works fine, should I install another ethernet card just for Mandrake? Would that make any difference?

try these at the command line, post again if this doesnt work:

#ifconfig eth0 down
#ifconfig eth0 up
#dhcpcd eth0


you can probably leave out the 1st 2, but i just put 'em in as a "just in case"

None of this worked I still can not get an IP address. Therefore get on my network.
