Very slow data

Hi there,

Irritating problem. I have 2 linux systems and they will only talk to each other very slowly.

One is a laptop that I am using as a NAT system. I has 2 network cards. One is a 10mb unit connecting to the internet and the other is a 100mb one for connection to my internal network. It is running redhat 7.3 with the 2.4.18-3 kernel.

The other is a standard desktop with a 100mb card in it. It is running the 2.4.18-14 kernel.

I have tried connecting the computers using NFS and Samba. Both make the connection ok but data is sent very slowly. About 1mb per min.

Does anyone have any idea what is going on here and where I can look for the problem?

Thanks

Paul
