Question /var move killed ftp server

I recently installed a second hd to move my /var folder to so I could have more room for my FTP folders. I copied all the files from the old /var to the new drive then unmounted the old partition. I seem to have a complete /var directory on the new drive. But for some reason my FTP server is not working. I have re-started xinetd with no errors. I think my permissions, groups and owners have moved properly. I think they are correct. Can anyone help me figure this out? What should I check. All help is greatly appreciated. Thanks jeff

Your ftpd's config is first, then xinetd's. If everything looks OK, bump up each app's debug/verbosity levels before you restart them. Ftpd should be spitting out errors if it fails.
