Background: eth0 dhcp client successfully get a dynamically assigned
IP from ISP DHCP Server
ISSUE: /var/log/messages growning out-of-bounds w/ the following entries:
--------
Aug 24 22:55:57 securebot dhclient[1004]: DHCPREQUEST on eth0 to 10.186.96.1 port 67
Aug 24 22:56:06 securebot dhclient[1004]: DHCPREQUEST on eth0 to 10.186.96.1 port 67

Aug 24 22:57:55 securebot init: tty (/dev/tty1) main process ended, respawning
Aug 24 22:57:59 securebot dhclient[1004]: DHCPREQUEST on eth0 to 10.186.96.1 port 67
Aug 24 22:58:03 securebot dhclient: DHCPDISCOVER on eth1 to 255.255.255.255 port 67 interval 14
Aug 24 22:58:11 securebot dhclient[1004]: DHCPREQUEST on eth0 to 10.186.96.1 port 67
Aug 24 22:58:17 securebot dhclient: DHCPDISCOVER on eth1 to 255.255.255.255 port 67 interval 11
Aug 24 22:58:21 securebot dhclient[1004]: DHCPREQUEST on eth0 to 10.186.96.1 port 67
Aug 24 22:58:28 securebot dhclient: DHCPDISCOVER on eth1 to 255.255.255.255 port 67 interval 3
Aug 24 22:58:31 securebot dhclient: No DHCPOFFERS received.
--------

Note: eth0 interfacing ISP gets it's IP from the ISP DHCP Server
without any problems. Then why is the dhcp client (dhclient) constantly trying to request for IP on eth0 interface?

Your ISP sets it lease time way too low?

ISP DHCP least time is not too bad (86399 seconds). That's almost every 24 hours.

The issue seems to be dhcp client side related as there are several back-to-back DHCPREQUEST on public (eth0) interface to the DHCP server server w/ IP: 10.186.96.1 that really doesn't even exist. I don't know why the dhcp-client on eth0 continues to send DHCPREQUEST eventhough it has already received the DHCPOFFER from the REAL DHCP Server.
