Using squid for web monitoring
 

Hi,

We require a web proxy in order to monitor better how bandwidth is utilized by our users. The details below are required:

- sites accessed by users connected to our network
- hostname of the machine
- time and date

Is this possible through squid (perhaps even combined with a specific interface)?

Yes. Since you're using Squid, you need to look at one of the several reporting tools for squid, which can be found on Squid's website:
http://www.squid-cache.org/Misc/log-analysis.html

Well, SARG is the 'standard' one that most folks use, but honestly that's a decision YOU need to make. They're all free, so download them and try them. See which one you think is best, easiest to install/maintain, etc.
