using mldonkey or amule

Ok as far as I know it linux does not have UPNP right? So if say in Amule I don't want I low user id I open ports 6346 and such on my router and through my firewall.

How come I still get a low user ID is it cause it is amule instead of emule?

The upload potential is there too! Yet I still have a lowid. It opened all the default ports from the mldonkey site for popular networks and still lowid, no matter how long I stay on and try for.

Could the user rights on my directory cause this? It shouldn't though as I am logged in as me and I have full rights.

I can barely connect to a server.

I don't know if the port number you have is right. To check (in Amule), go to preferences, then Connection. In the fourth box down you will have a TCP port and right next to it a UDP port. Make sure that THOSE numbers are cleared through your firewall and/or router, then try it. You should have a High ID then.

Hope this helps.
