USB Virtual Network Adapter Internet Connection Sharing Suse 10.2 and Windows, How???

I am trying to share internet from Windows XP to my Suse 10.2.
I have a usb virtual network adapter, works perfectly windows xp to windows xp but doesnt seem to want to work windows xp to suse 10.2.

Computer 1: Laptop

WiFi connection to the internet
Windows XP operating system
Trying to share internet to desktop Suse 10.2

Computer 2: Desktop

Only a USB virtual network adapter, works perfectly with the network manager.
Suse 10.2 operating system

I am trying to share the laptops wifi connection to the desktop. Both computer get themselves an automatic private address as they should.

But!! They can't even ping each other!!!

Please do not say buy a router, there is no need to buy a router for p2p connections.

So what do I do?

By the way internet connection sharing is all setup with windows xp.

Suse 10.2 is beautiful as well.
