USB Ethernet adapter support?

Hi,

I am trying to find out which USB to Ethernet adapters work with Linux 2.6.

I spoke to one person who has the Netgear FA120 who said they had it working but were not very helpful as to how and I wondered if anyone had any experience of this or the Belkin f5d5050.

Thanks in advance.

Try looking on this site under the HCL. You will find the info you need under the Network card section.

Thanks - I wish I had found the Hardware Compatibility List at the top of the page under HCL sooner :(

It is a shame that when you search it only searches the forums and not the hardware compatibility list. Anyway thanks everyone great resource and now to find out if it works for me :)

Hi,

One further query - when you do this - I have now tried - and it seems to work - BUT what device will it be and how do you configure the device.

The USB device is seen and there looks like there is activity but I don't know which device to configure as there doesn't seem to be a new eth device in /etc/sysconfig.network-scripts/ifcfg*

Any ideas?
