Unhappy Usb cable modem


How can i get linux to recognize my Scientific Atlanta Webstar USB cable modem? Do i need a driver? Do they really exist for linux? PLEASE HELP!!!!

Hi Taekdar, welcome to lq. I'm guessing the modem has ethernet capability, if you have an onboard nic, or a pci nic, the painless solution may be to use that connection, rather than the usb. If not, nics are quite cheap to purchase, and it may save you in time what you would spend in $.
