updating dyndns.org

Trying to get my dyndns address updated with the [dynamic] address provided by my ISP.

Troube is, I'm behind a router - a netgear WGT624 - and my server has a static IP on the LAN. The router has a dyndns page but I dont think this is sent at periodic intervals, its a manual update that needs to be instigated from within the router's admin web server.

How do I get my WAN address through to DynDns.org?

ddclient from synaptic seems to support this router however I'm not sure what the full command(s) need to be.

Can anyone help please.

Thanks in advance.

Hi.

I used to use the DynDNS page on my DG834, and it worked fine. Whenever the IP changes, it should send the new IP to DynDNS.

Maybe see if there's a newer firmware image for your router on the Netgear site?

Hi up there in wee bonny escocia.

Thanks for the reply, I should have clarified that I'm not sure whether the router IS updating upon a IP WAN change.

If this is suppoed to be done, then I will monitor and update f/w if needed.

Just wasnt sure whether this router is auto updating, like yours does.

Thanks
