I't s for sure a resolution dns problem my network doesn't look affected by this problem in internet browsing .Am i correct ?
Another sick question  ... !!!!

zaichik 06-01-2006 09:08 AM

It definitely looks like a name resolution problem--the mail server is unable to find the MX records for gmail.com. Check that you have valid nameservers in /etc/resolv.conf--it might be that the DNS service on the first one listed there is down,, or something similar.

Can you ping gmail.com or av.com? Are you sure you can connect your Linux box to the outside world? Try 'ftp ftp.kernel.org' and tell me if that command returns the ftp logon screen.
