unable to telnet to port 5060
 
hi all,
i want to connect to my sip server with port 5060 , but as am requesting to it with softphone it is timed out .. so that i tried to telnet *.*.*.* 5060
but am getting a connection refused error
but am able to telnet with other ports as 22, 8080.. 10000.. etc..pls help

is anything listening on that port, when you look at the output of "netstat -plnt"? Is iptables allowing that port though, as per "iptables -vnL"?

udp? You can't use a TCP tool like telnet to conenct to a UDP service.

Hi acid there nothing listing there as port 5060 while am executing command netstat -plnt

right, so as well as it being (apparently) UDP, it's also not even running...
