Unable to resolve domain names

I am brand new to Linux and having networking problems. I just installed RH9 and am connecting to Roadrunner cable through a Linksys router.

However:
1) I cannot resolve names (e.g. yahoo)

2) I can successfully ping yahoo, etc as long as I enter a numerical ip address (i.e. my internet connection itself is fine)

3) I can successfully ping the DNS servers listed in my config file

4) But when I use dig or host to resolve a domain name, I get back an error that there was no response from the server. I tried specifying each of the three DNS servers in turn, but no luck.

What am I doing wrong!? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I'm totally baffled.

Thank you.

OK, I'm an idiot. Somehow the firewall was set to "high" security. When I changed that, it started working...

Thanks for your help.
