Exclamation Unable to connect to PPTP server

Hi

I have a ubuntu box which i am trying to get to connect to an external pptp server. i have got my own pptp server ruing on another win 2k3 server for testing purposes. i am able to connect the linux box to the win 2k3 server correctly every time. the problem is connecting the linux box to the external vpn server. i have in the past been able to connect to the server but after disconnecting i have been unable to reconnect. my windows box has always and still is able to connect to the server with no extra ordinary configuration. these are parts of the outputs i get while connecting.

this is connecting to my server which works fine

the config files for both connections are basically the same with the only difference being the logon names

pty "pptp vpnhost. --nolaunchpppd"

file /etc/ppp/options.pptp
ipparam mywisp
when connecting with windows the configuration is exactly the same as well.

any ideas of where i have gone wrong would be great.
