I am new to the world of Linux and VMware. I have installed Red Hat 6.1 on VmWare Workstation9. I was able to connect to the internet and browse various websites, e.g. Google, Dropbox etc.
However, while setting up my system, I renamed the hostname and changed the ip address in etc/hosts and /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0

After restarting the service and rebooting the sy
stem, I can see the edited hostname and ip address in the mentioned files, but my internet doesn't work. I am tring NAT connection between the host system and the guest system. Please let me know if you need any further information as I don't know too much about it.

Hi,

Probably you have set your guest's IP with a different network segment with the NAT segment of the host system.

Can you show us the output of these commands :

1. From the guest :
# ifconfig

2.a From the host (if it's Linux box) :
# ifconfig

2.b If it's Windows box :
# ipconfig /all
