Unhappy Unable to configure or use Wireless Network on Dell Laptop and Oracle Linux

I am a first time Linux user - though I've Unix and Windows experience. So though I can follow your most tech instructions, I'll need some hand-holding.

Need help getting my wireless network to work on my newly installed Oracle Linux on Dell laptop.

Not sure what wireless card is installed, or it's mac address (though I can boot into windows and get that info, I don't want to - it'll be kind of a let down if I can't fix it all thru Linux).

Install has detected a Broadcom wired card, but not the wireless. Funny thing is that it detected the Bluetooth.

Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Post the model number and the output of the command

This will help us determine the proper module required for your wireless device.

I remember I found a thread on a forum about Scientific Linux 5 that can't find wireless device on a Dell laptop (sorry I can't provide the link); the solution was to download and install a newer version for the Broadcom wireless driver (that's the chipset the laptop had) because the one included in the distribution was not working; and since SL and Oracle are both RHEL clones, maybe this could help you too...

[EDIT]You have some useful links in this thread
