what is the Ultimate linux samba server distro

I would like to run my own linux samba server but I would like to not have to have inheratable permissions all the time. I would like it so that some users cannot go into certian sub folders.

I have a 3ware 9000 sata raid card
and it is on a dual athlon mp tyan mobo

I am fairly new but I have done samba on linux before, but never
with non-inheratable permissions.

please help.

If you are mapping samba users to different users on the linux box, you can simply change permissions on the files/folders themselves - samba permissions in no way override filesystem permissions. I do this myself.

If you have everyone authenticate as a guest, you may find it harder to allow access to certain users. I actually don't know whether or not this is possible entirely within samba's configuration.
