ubuntu will not see windows network pc
i'm trying to let my ubuntu view the windows networkgroup named goku
(this network is working fine because my windows can see/share with each other ) this is what i did. installed samba change the conf workgroup=goku reboot system (because i didnt know how to reboot samba via shell ) then went to places >network server to look for the windows pc. non to be found can someone knowledgeable help me out please tx ~chad |
Haven't used samba myself, but if I've understood what everyone else says about it, then:
There's a samba server, and a samba client. Use the server if you want to connect windows to GNU/Linux; use the client if you want to connect GNU/Linux to windows. Did you install the right one? hth --Jonas |
