Ubuntu 6.10 - IP forwarding
Hello everyone,
I have a question regarding enabling of ip forwarding in Ubuntu 6.10 disto.
As far as I know the recipe for enabling ip forwarding is to uncomment the line:
net.ipv4.conf.default.forwarding=1
of the file:
/etc/sysctl.conf
, but when I do this my changes are not reflected in the proc fs:
/proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_forward
when I reboot my system, thus I have to do this manually by issuing:
echo 1 >> /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_forward
From this point onwards, the feature works.
Is there a special way to make the change permanent in this distro, or?
Thanks!
