Ubuntu 12.04 Internet very slow after bios update

Hi,

i hope someone can help me finding a solution for the problem I have to deal with since I have updated my bios.

Ubuntu 12.04 (Server)
xfce Desktop

Problem:

I upgraded my bios. After the upgrade my networkspeed has slowed down to 50kb. Sometimes a bit more but never more then ~130kb. Sometime under 50kb.

Which biossettings can result in a slow network?

If i restart my router network speed raises up to 700kb for about 45 seconds minute and slows down again.

I tried downgrading my bios back to the previous version but this does`nt solved the problem and I upgraded it again.

Sounds like a potentially bad flash. I would recommend either trying to reflash your new BIOS again or to revert to the last version before the current and wait for another update.

If the company provides checksums then be sure to run a checksum on your downloaded BIOS firmware. I'll think more on the problem when I have more time and see if we can come up with something else as well.

Hi,

I have downgraded back to the previous version without a change. After downgrading has not changed anything I downloaded the biosupgrade again and upgraded again with the new file. All in all I have tried 3 files.

I disabled the internal networkadapter and installed a networkcard. Nothing.

Are there settings in bios which can result in such trouble with Ubuntu?

Ok. It seems to not be a problem with the update. Tried it again.
