Ubuntu 10.04 can't connect to network with ASUS Crosshair IV mobo (Marvell 8059 LAN).
I think I am just missing the driver. I was on another posting that showed a possible update to the Linux kernel to enable support for the 8059 LAN adapter but not certain. The mobo was only released a little bit ago. I had to get the driver manually to get Windows 7 to connect as well. I found on Marvell's website two possible drivers that might work, (one under drivers for Linux kernel 2.4 and up and one under the Marvell 8059 adapter but lists under platform Fedora. both are .tar.bz2 files) Not sure which of the two to use, as the first is from 2007, the latter is from about a week ago (lines up with the release of the mobo).
Anyway, would that be the problem? Usually Ubuntu "just works" for me. I also don't have much history with installing those types of files so any help is welcome.
I'm dual booting Windows 7 and Ubuntu, and like I said, Windows connects, but Ubuntu does not.
