Two possible connections to the Internet?

Hi, I have two ways available to me to connect to the Internet--through a slow LAN, or by cable. Usually I use cable, but sometimes, in order to access stuff on my intranet, I use the LAN.

Is it possible to switch my connection from cable to LAN without rebooting the system? I know the answer involves restarting certain services, but I'm not sure which ones.

Here are the possible services I might need to shut down and restart:
portmap
network
internet
routed
iptables
xfs
shorewall
rawdevices
xinetd

Anyone know which ones? And do I have to restart my X server?

Thanks.

Yeah, only one unfortunately. Otherwise, I would have asked how to connect to the Internet with both of them at once!

Right now I want to be able to unplug one connection, plug in the other, and use the new connection without having to restart my computer.

I think that all you have to do is restart the network service and the other connection should then come up. you should also be able to set up "profiles" for Eth connections. Give it a try and repost if it does not work
