two ports in putty?

pls correct me wherever im wrong ,
in putty under "specify the destination you want to connect to" a port is selected by default(which is the destination port), now under connections->ssh->tunnels we are required to fill in the destination ip address and the port, isnt there a conflict?

thanks in advance

ssh allows you to do many things. So you can, for example, ssh to one host (via some port, default 22) and establish a tunnel from that host to a different host (via some port) and map it to a local port on your side (for tunneling purposes).

Local port forwarding opens a port on your machine for the tunnel; remote port forwarding opens the port on the machine you're ssh'ing to.

Dynamic port forwarding opens a local port that is used as a SOCKSv4 or SOCKSv5 proxy.
