two nics, two routers routing problem

My local network has a router that conencts to a file server, and also to the internet. I also have another router which also connects to the internet. So essentially I have two different cable modems, both with their own router.

Now on my linux machine I have 2 devices eth0 and ra0.

ra0 connects to the the one router, which it uses as the internet connection, and eth0 connects to the other router so that I can access my local file server.

when ra0 is connected on its own, everything works fine. The internet is provided by the correct router. When I activate eth0 I get access to my local network, but linux then uses the internet provided from that router, not the router that ra0 is connected to.

I appreciate this is probably a simple routing problem, but I dont know how to solve it. The setup I want is internet on ra0 and local network eth0.

Can someone please show me how to do this

Thanks

Just make sure that your default gateway is always pointing to the correct routers ip address

Thanks for you help

Answer was right in front of me!! The interface management GUI automatically puts in the Gateway, and when you delete it it puts one back in for you (like a nice GUI should). Just manually edited the ifcfg-eth0 and everything is working great.
