two network cards in slackware 10.2
I have two network cards in my computer and I just installed Slackware 10.2. It only sees one of the Realtek 8139D cards. With ifconfig it only sees eth0. How do I make Slackware detect the second network card?

Are both nics identical? If yes then Slackware must have recognised it, so you can use netconfig (or ifconfig) to configure it as eth1.
If you get any errors then run:
to see if Slack sees it during boot.

Hi,
You need to provide us with information in order too help you! As for your problem with your boss that will require a little more part on your half!
I would gladly provide you with help but the lack of information prevents me. Please express with detail your system information with possibly the dmesg output.
Too just yell for help and not provide detailed system information tends to exclude you.

If your other nic is a via (possibly via-rhine) then try: If you get no errors then the module for your nic is loaded into the kernel and you can use netconfig to configure your nics. Else run to find the model of your nic and use google or post here to find the correct module to use.
