Trying to Print through a network printer using samba - Forbidden

We have been using Mandrake for our office network but have switched our main machine over to Debian and have had problems configuring a lot of things that just worked under Mandrake.

I am stuck at the minute setting up our network printer. I have set up the printer through cups and it works (for some apps but not others). I have configured samba using swat so that it can be shared by other machines on our network but I keep getting this error from cups when trying to print a test page from the remote machine:

Forbidden

You don't have permission to access the resource on this server

I've been over and over the options in swat but everything looks exactly as it did on the old Mandrake installation where everything was fine. I've asked my friend the computer bod and tried all of his suggestions but nothing appears to have helped.

Can anyone help?

I did manage to work around this.

The problem was on a client machine running Mandrake trying to print through samba on a Debian server machine.

I added the new printer through cups and figured that it hadn't worked as I got the Forbidden error when I tried to print a test page. I later tried looking the printer up in printerdrake - there it was and it worked fine, test pages and all.

Cups still give the error but at least I can use the printer - weird.
