Unhappy Trying to get my cable modem working

Okay, I just install Red Hat 7.1 and I got a com21 cable modem and im haveing trouble getting it working can someone please help me. Also try to send me a site were I could read the documents on it. Thank You in a advice.

how do you connect from your cable modem ?? is it ethernet or usb ? www.linuxdoc.org is the best place to go for online docs.

How is the cable modem connected? (directly to the machine... through a router..)
Is the NIC loading? What type of NIC is it?
