Any kernel errors when you boot your laptop with anything other than 5.4.x?

I have a thread in debian section on Intel AX200. Errors, usually the firmware will crash.

https://www.linuxquestions.org/quest...-a-4175711770/

my thread on intel community with much more kernel errors listed. I accidently deleted my data on kernel and error I had like 4 sets of files with errors for each kernel.

Try a diff of the different Kernel configs to see if there interesting changes
zcat /proc/config.gz > config-kernelx.y.z.txt

then
diff -y file01.txt file02.txt

just tried kernel 5.18.10 with firmware 2022 the firmware that loaded was version 71.
hardware was detected but get errors about mac address. not paying attention to well been focusing on other parts of life.
dont see firmware crashing. edited to config to have iwlmei included and enabled debugging messages for iwlwifi so I see alot of new messages that I know nothing about.

Hey Op

I am staying vigilant on still solving my problem with my laptop and intel AX200.
I am going to do a git bisect of kernel's which work and when it stops working. I narrowed the
problem to kernel 5.7.x.

5.6.19 kernel works for me but wifi doesnt work in 5.7.y
Longterm kernel 5.4.x has intel/pcie/drv.c code same as 5.6.19.

Can you use git bisect
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/late...ug-bisect.html
Im using Slackware and compiling a kernel is pretty simple if you dont want a package
Slackware current is using kernel5.18.6<

https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Kernel_git-bisect

I do see the AX200 in drv.c in pcie on kernel's newer than 5.7 call the AX200 in Qu section of code
saw someone mention Qu/QuZ firmware which is not AX200's firmware.

https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=216058
when building kernels may want to use
Code:
make localmodconfig
will make tight config for compiling and reduce compiling time. though on kernels with iwlmei you may need to edit config to include it.

can you post some info for when your ax200 is working and not with kernel
Code:
sudo dmesg | grep iwl
Code:
sudo dmesg | grep firmware
