trying to finish installing wpc11, please help

i have redhat 9 and a linksys wpc11 and have installed the drivers for it and changed the ssid to match my router. i have a connection from the wpc11 card to the router, i pulled the logs on the router and can see that it shows the connection to the wpc11. the problem is that i can't get RH9 to use the connection. when i bring the hardware browser up it shows the linksys card and shows that it is using Driver: orinoco_cs but it doesn't have a device name such as "/dev/eth1" or "/dev/wlan0". when i issure the conmand

[root@localhost root]# iwconfig wlan0
wlan0 IEEE 802.11-b ESSID:"home" Nickname:"home"

Encryption key:off
Link Quality:92/92 Signal level:-40 dBm Noise level:-98 dBm
Rx invalid nwid:0 Rx invalid crypt:0 Rx invalid frag:0

also the rpms that i installed are:

kernel-wlan-ng-0.2.0-7.i686.rpm
kernel-wlan-ng-pcmcia-0.2.0-7.i686.rpm
kernel-wlan-ng-modules-rh9.9-0.2.0-7.i686.rpm

also its on a Dell latitude c840 p4 1.8
[root@localhost Installs]# uname -a
Linux localhost.localdomain 2.4.20-9 #1 Wed Apr 2 13:42:50 EST 2003 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux

well, i've got it working now, just had to create the file /etc/sysconfig/network-scrips/ifcfg-eth1 by creating new network profile in the network configuratiton utility and then going in and manually changing the line "DEVICE=eth1" to "DEVICE=wlan0", working like a charm. also got wep up and running.

where did you add the parameters for your wireless network in?
I am new to linux, I have Mandrake 9.1 and a Linksys WPC11 and have already loaded orinoco_cs drivers for it, my laptop detects it as eth1.
Whebn i go into /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth1
it shows
==============
Device=eth1
Bootproto=dhcp
netmask=255.255.255.0
onboot=yes
wireless_mode=Managed
wireless_essid=any
needhostname=yes
===============

is this where I add the parameters to get my linksys card to hook up to my access point?
I need to know where to add things like:
AUTHENTICATION=MUST USE SHARED...
CHANNEL=6
ENCRYPTION=128
FRAGMENTATION=2432
MAXLISTEN=3
NETWORK=INFRASTRUCTURE
POWER=DISABLED
PREAMBLE=LONG TX PREAMBLE
RTS=2432
SSID=########
TRANSMIT=FULLY AUTO
PASSPHRASE=%%%%%%%%%

these are all the settings i have to set in WinXP to get my card to connect to the access point.

please remember i am a super noob and any help appreciated.
