trying to connect to make eth0 work on slackware 12
I am very new to linux(one day to be exact). I installed slackware 12 on a system that also runs windows xp pro and set it up to dualboot. After getting through the install and starting it up for the first time I tried to connect to my high speed connection and nothing happened. When I go into network settings it pops up a window that says your platform is not supported and gives you a list of platforms and asks you to pick one that behaves the same as the chosen one(slackware 12).
Which one do I pick and what do I do after that so eth0 stops disabling itself? |
Where do you "go into network settings"?
This may be familiar language to someone else, but to do that, I either run "netconfig" as root, or edit "/etc/rc.d/rc.inet1.conf" with vim as root. |
