trouble with iptables module
I'm having trouble getting the iptables (1.2.11, kernel is 2.4.19) to load. I get the following error message when I do a modprobe:
/lib/modules/2.4.19/kernel/net/ipv4/netfilter/ip_tables.o: init_module: Device or resource busy
Hint: insmod errors can be caused by incorrect module parameters, including invalid IO or IRQ parameters.
You may find more information in syslog or the output from dmesg
/lib/modules/2.4.19/kernel/net/ipv4/netfilter/ip_tables.o: insmod /lib/modules/2.4.19/kernel/net/ipv4/netfilter/ip_tables.o failed
/lib/modules/2.4.19/kernel/net/ipv4/netfilter/ip_tables.o: insmod ip_tables failed
now, I must say that I do not have "ipchains" running or on this PC. During my research on this error, this is the only solution that I came across, the fact that "ipchains" is running, or another instance of "iptables" is running (which it itsn't). From an iptables standpoint, everything looks ready to go, except that the module doesn't load, with either modprobe, or insmod:
/lib/modules/2.4.19/kernel/net/ipv4/netfilter/ip_tables.o: init_module: Device or resource busy
Hint: insmod errors can be caused by incorrect module parameters, including invalid IO or IRQ parameters.
