Transferring Files from Windows XP to Redhat 8.0 Wirelessly

Can it be done? I have Windows XP on my home computer and Redhat Linux 8.0 on a laptop. I'm wondering what has to be done and if microsoft will allow this networking to exist.

All I really want to be able to do, is to send media files to the laptop wirelessly.

Thanks

Can't this be done using Samba? It shouldn't make a difference if you are wireless or directly connected with a cable. As long as the connection is there you can send files.
