transferring files across a lan


hey. sort of a newbie. I can ssh to a lab account i have (i'm on a school network) and i would like to mv a folder from my local machine to the remote machine. how do i do that?
thx and excuse my newness.

silly of me

that was silly of me. it took about 3 seconds on google to find the scp command

Another good thing to use is sftp, because it works just like a ftp client. That way you don't have to know the full path and name of whatever it is you want to transfer.
