traffic control, burst??
 

i was using the tc command and was confused of what the "burst" mean.

I understand
rate=guaranteed bandwidth
ceil = max bandwidth
burst ==?? sudden max burst that could be above ceil?

all i know is people tell me to set burst = ceil/8 but why?

burst is the amount of packet @ceil rate

please don't drag up dead threads. let them die in peace.
