Question torrent hash problem

i do not know if this is the right thread so feel free to move it.

a few months ago i switched from arch linux to debian. i used rtorrent for all my torrents since there is not great utorrent alternative for linux. i have it set up so that all my music is in one folder and all my other stuff in another, i like it organized. both are on the same partition and everything.

since after the move the r`other' folder has worked fine, just loaded up rtorrent again and all the data worked and all hashed fine. but for my music folder the same did not happen. nothing in that folder would hash at all. all the data is fine, i can play all the files and nothing is corrupt. the permissions are the same between both the other and the music folders and subdir are the same too. i can add new torrents to either folder and they work fine.
I really hate not being able to seed what i have and its really annoying. something which may have affected it is that i had all my music in a folder called media, and i used a mount --bind /dir/media /dir/music command to link the two and had my torrents dl into /dir/music. could that be my problem?
i just dont understand why the problem has happened, its really frustrating. ican try to reload the torrent by removing it and add it again but it says i have 0.0% of it, it simply does not hash at all. i can more the file out of the dir and double check the permissions but still cant load the torrent, nothing seems to work.

please help me.
