tlan NIC problem
 

I threw in an old Compaq Netelligent 10/100TX PCI UTP to hopefully use in my old system I rebuilt. The tlan driver has this exact card listed under supported cards so there should be no problem. Well here IS the problem:

No activity on the card at all, I can give it an IP and everything but does absolutly nothing when I try to use it even for a simple ping. When I use pump or ifup eth0 the LED's blink once very quickly on the card and that's it. In fact it seems it is just the LED for 100. I am running Damn Small Linux 3.2.

Any ideas?

www.damnsmalllinux.org mentions ADSL over PPPoE. If YOUR ISP is PPPoA, like mine is, it will not work out of the box. How are YOU connecting to the internet? It is possible to add more software to help YOU connect.
