Thunderbird over proxy

hi,

I'm running an squid proxy on a linux server for a small windows network. On the internet I have found out that Thunderbird needs a sock-Proxy like dante, now I installed dante and still thunderbird doesn't connect over the proxy. Both proxies work fine.

In the Proxy-Settings of Tunderbird there are three options, HTTP-, SSL-Proxy and SOCKS-Host. If I have 1080(the dante port) everywhere, it doesn't work, with 3128(the squid port) either. Also combining both, so access squid as HTTP and SSl Proxy and enter the dante IP in SOCKS-Host doesn't work. What to do with thunderbird??

Thanks.
