Thinkpad x201 wireless now doesn't work Debian 8.1
Ok, I've got Debian 8.1 64b/KDE 4.13 on a Lenovo X201. Just yesterday there was an update, and after I rebooted the wireless won't come on.
There is an indicator on the laptop but it's not lit. I checked and the driver is still installed, FN-f5 doesn't work, and I checked the Bios. No go. I have Debian 8.1/32b on the Asus Eee, and I have wireless access if that helps. Has anyone heard of a problem, or fix? |
Do you know what wireless card you have? I know there is/was an issue with the firmware-iwlwifi for a while that with their AC cards stopped working and you had to install the updated backports firmware-iwlwifi, but offhand that's just a wild guess.

The update I believe included a kernel. Try the older one.

And
Code:
dmesg | tail mine in debian testing Code:
$ dmesg | tail |
Guys; I'll have to get back with you. Apparently it's not just the wireless that's borked, but both the wireless AND the wired. Even plugging it in doesn't connect.
Just bloody great. Thanks for the help. |
Did you try booting an older kernel like Jefro suggested?
Also, what are you using for network control? It could be that it is a new kernel and it's nothing more than the new kernel recognizes your network cards as a different name and you need to update the configuration that you're using for network controller. |
Thanks to all for your help. In checking my laptop I found some serious errors in the file, and partitioning that required me to wipe and completely reinstall linux on it. (It was my screwup). That cleared the problem with the network however. Thanks for the help.
