there is no fixed IP addres
 
HI,
I AM USING MANDRAKE 10.0 WITH KDE.

there is no fixed IP address...
i changed the file but no use.
every time when i boot the IP address get losed for eth0 intraface..

how to fix one IP address.it should not change after rebooting....


[root@Simlab-node5 staff]# cat /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0
DEVICE=eth0
BOOTPROTO=static
IPADDR=10.255.240.105
ONBOOT=yes
MII_NOT_SUPPORTED=no

You need to edit the /etc/inet1.conf file and change that.

hello sir there is no such file in my linux box..
