You are pretty short on details but here is the down and dirty version.
You will need to set up your FC box as at least a proxy server if all you want to do is serve up webpages, etc. You probably need a much more complicated setup (firewall, antivirus scanner, router, dhcp, and a way for your XP box to make your linux box dial up the Internet if you don't leave it on all the time.)

I know this post probably doesn't help much, but it's a start!

Thanks at first!

I want to know whether I can configure FC10's firewall to make my XP box connect to internet.

You can configure the PC's firewall to allow connections from other computers. It is much easier to do in linux than in windows (as I am sure you already know) but I strongly recommend buying a router. You can usually connect the modem to them and let them forward the data accordingly. They are relatively cheap and would offer a solution with a lot less headache and a lot more dependability.

I really hope this answers your question!

Yes you can but you need to buy some hardware to make the connection from the XP to the FC box.

You have a network interface card in the FC box and that connects to the cable modem ?????

If so you need to buy another Network interface card to connect the XP box via an ethernet cable. (This turns your FC box into a Router/

As another Poster stated it is simpler to buy a Router and connect it to your modem and then hook both the XP and the FC to the Router.

Of course, if the modem you are using is a dialup modem then you might have an open Network INterface card in your FC which would mean you would not need to buy another NIC.

It would be good if you would provide the details of your system set up so that the more knowledgeable people cna help you.

For instance, is the modem a "dialup" or a "cable" modem?
Does the XP have an open RJ45 jack?
Does the FC have an open RJ45 jack?

yeah! it's a 'dialup' by modem. The two PCs connect to a hub,the modem connect to the hub too.

Before the two PCs can share internet, but it is dialed up by my XP box.
Now I want to make the FC box dial up and hope it also can let my XP box share the internet.

Thanks!

Turn on IP routing, can be done temporarily as root by:
Code:
echo 1 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_forward
Turn on NAT:
Code:
iptables -t nat -A POSTROUTING -o ppp0 -j MASQUERADE
Configure Windows XP system to use the Linux system as the gateway.

You don't need a proxy server, but using a caching web proxy (for example Squid) will improve performance if browsing the same websites from both computers.
